Since shooting my first two rolls of film (for about 6 years) I am now gently easing myself into shooting film again, but not just with the modern Canon EOS 3; with my vintage Russian FED rangefinders and the Yashica Mat TLR. I now have a bundle of 6 films to send to Peak Imaging for processing (I’m going to start processing myself soon too).
I also have a few other cameras to try including an Olympus 35 RC and a Canon Canonet QL17. Can’t wait to try these but I need to replace the light seals first. I also have an Olympus OM10 from my inlaws, who also kindly bought me a Kodak Duo Six-20 Series II for Christmas (I’ll need to wait until I have a dark bag so I can roll some 120 onto 620 reels first). Oh and my dad’s Lubitel 2 too – lots more fun to come.
I have the following films ready to send:
- Kodak TMax400 135 – Shot on a FED 5 and Industar 61 L/D 55mm lens at ISO 200 (I bought the FED 5 for the lens, I don’t particularly like the body. However, as it is the newest FED I own – probably from the 1980s – I reckoned it would be the most reliable and least likely to put me off vintage cameras and back to the EOS 3!)
- A roll of cheapy Fuji Superior 200 135 – Shot on a FED 5 and Industar 61 L/D 55mm lens
- Ilford HP5 plus 135 – Shot on a FED 3 and Jupiter-12 35mm lens
- Fuji Neopan 400CN 135 – Shot on a FED 2 and Jupiter-8 50mm lens
- Kodak TMAX400 120 – Shot on a Yashica Mat at ISO 800
- Fuji Neopan 400CN 135 – Shot by Lynsey on a EOS 3 with the 24L and 50L at ISO 800
I was too scared to send them off before Christmas and New Year, worried that my precious films would be lost in the festive backlog, so they’ll be on their way to Peak Imaging sometime this week. Can’t wait to get them back and get scanning!
